The Owner
Dr. Nuwordu is a board-certified Family Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with inclusive training and experience in treating psychiatric disorders in inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. Nuwordu worked with Active/retired military Service members, underprivileged clients in correctional facilities in four Virginia counties. Dr. Nuwordu is compassionate and thoughtful makes every effort to provide and guarantee her clients comprehensive and best available treatment that is individually centered in an empathic environment.
Dr. Nuwordu has a personal passion for helping people and believes that the Sound mind builds a healthy body which she endeavors to bring into the lives of her clients. She performs diagnostic evaluation and medication management using exceptional clinical skills and up-to-date knowledge of the current evidence-based practice.
Experienced in working with chronic and challenging mental health conditions including mood disorders: affective mood disorder, Anxiety disorders, Schizophrenia, and impulsive control disorders.
Dr. Nuwordu as, a compassionate person, strives to give client’s tools they need to overcome challenges in their recovery journey. In addition to medication management, she utilizes principles of CBT and supports therapy in her practice. Dr. Nuwordu is an independent provider but partners with other psychological/counseling providers to refer clients for individual psychotherapy and psychological testing if needed.
Dr. Nuwordu earned her Bachelor of Science from George Mason University and her Doctor of Nursing Practice, specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health from George Mason University. She completed her psychiatric internship and fellowship at Inova Health Medical Center Fairfax, Virginia.
Dr. Nuwordu, when not caring for her clients, loves spending time with her family and volunteering in church activities.
